ABOUT ME 

Hello!

I am Matías, a multi-disciplinary designer from Mexico City living in Vancouver, Canada. I have a background in architectural design where I having been working over two years on the design and construction of an exciting new style of recreation buildings, community infrastructure feasibility studies, and commercial renovations.

Growing up, I spent time living in Haiti, Switzerland, and Mexico prior to coming to Vancouver, Canada to study Environmental Design at the School of Architecture at UBC. I am an avid hiker, ceramicist, and runner, and enjoy skiing in Vancouver's local mountains during the winter.

I want to build on my current skills, that include hand sketching, drafting, 3D modelling, and project management, and learn to work with fabrication processes, coding, and visual media to pursue my own ideas and create products and experiences that benefit people and the natural world. My current areas of interest where I would want to deploy these newfound skills are healthcare, content creation, ecosystem stewardship, product design, and sustainability, and I'm excited to see how I can tie these and other areas together when I purusue my own business and design ideas in the future.
